How to Create a Proposal

If you see what’s missing, propose it.

Creating a proposal means starting a formal suggestion that the OX Labs DAO will review and vote on.

If you believe something should be added, changed, removed or funded, you can propose it.

Proposal Basics

To submit a proposal on Realms:

  • You need to hold at least 10,000,000 $OXLABS This threshold is subject to change and may be lowered through a DAO vote in the near future.

  • You must connect your wallet to Realms

  • You should clearly explain what you're proposing, why it matters, and how it will work

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Access Proposal Creation

Navigate to the OX Labs DAO page on Realms and click "Create Proposal" on the dashboard.

2

Choose Proposal Type

Select the type of proposal based on what you want to achieve:

  • Community Vote – Open for all $OXLABS token holders to vote.

  • Council Vote – Restricted to $OXCOUNCIL token holders (Council members only).

  • Executable Proposal – Includes on-chain actions (like treasury transfers, parameter changes, or integrations) that will automatically execute if the proposal passes.

  • Non-Executable Proposal – Used for signal voting or sentiment checks (for example, choosing between multiple roadmap options).

3

Configure Proposal Details

Fill in the key details for your proposal:

  • Title – A clear and descriptive name (e.g., “Launch Analytics AI Module”)

  • Description – What the proposal does, why it matters, and how it will work

  • Instructions (if needed) – Optional for most proposals; only required for Executable proposals

4

Add Instructions (Executable Only)

If you’re creating an executable proposal, you can add on-chain actions from the available list, such as:

  • Treasury Transfers – Specify recipient wallet addresses and transfer amounts

  • Configuration Changes – Propose updates to protocol or DAO parameters

  • DeFi Actions – Staking, swaps, liquidity provisioning, or lending operations

Once your details and instructions are added, review your draft and submit the proposal to open it for DAO voting.

Proposal Example

Title: Introduce new AI model for document analysis

Summary: This proposal aims to add a new AI tool to the protocol that analyzes PDFs and extracts structured data.

Benefits:

  • Expands tool library

  • Increases utility for business users

  • Brings in more real-world use cases

Risks / Considerations:

  • Needs moderate infrastructure update

  • Usage might be limited at first

Requested Action: Approval of this tool addition and a DAO grant of 20,000 $OXLABS for integration

What to Avoid

❌ Don't
✅ Instead

Skipping feedback

Share the idea in community channels before submitting

After Submission

Once you submit the proposal:

  • It enters a 24-hour voting period

  • In the last 2 hours (cool off phase), Yes votes are disabled

  • If quorum is met and Yes votes reach 60%, the proposal passes

  • Otherwise, it fails and is marked closed

Tips Before Submitting

  • Post the idea in Telegram or Twitter for feedback

  • Double check the required token amount is held in your connected wallet

  • Review if similar proposals already exist

  • Be open to feedback before going on-chain

Sharing the Proposal

Once submitted, your proposal will have a unique link like this: https://realms.today/dao/oxlabs/proposal/0xabc...

Share this link in Telegram, Twitter, or other platforms so token holders can review and vote.
